Welcome to our office, and thank you for choosing us as your Cheyenne ultrasound, pregnancy, and gynecologic care provider. We will also give you as much information as possible. We are very proud to currently be the only AIUM—accredited ultrasound department for obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound in the state of Wyoming. AIUM accreditation means that our ultrasound program has passed a rigorous evaluation including patient safety and comfort issues, sanitation, maintenance of reliable records, and proper training and continued education of doctors and ultrasonographers.
Our AIUM-accredited ultrasound department employs ultrasonographers who specialize in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. We have state-of-the-art ultrasound machines. All scans are interpreted by one of our board-certified obstetricians-gynecologists.
Video taping for non-diagnostic purposes is not performed; however, keepsake still images of your baby will be provided. Please be aware that fetal position, or other anatomical factors, may limit our ability to obtain optimal keepsake images. If you are less than 12 weeks pregnant, or you are having a gynecology or non-pregnant ultrasound, you may need a full bladder.
It is also possible that you may be asked to empty your bladder during part of the examination, especially if a trans-vaginal probe is used.
Most of the time, your insurance is likely to cover the cost of the ultrasound examination that your doctor or health care provider has recommended. If the cost is not covered, you will become responsible for the charges, and will need to make arrangements in our business office for payment or to set up a payment plan. It is truly our pleasure to serve you, and if you have any questions or concerns please ask one of us to assist you, or explain anything that you do not understand.
We want your ultrasound experience to be as pleasant and as informative as possible. Our ultrasound theaters in Cheyenne are large and comfortable with big screen HD TV monitors, and friends and family are encouraged to be present for your ultrasound examination if you so desire.
Sonographers who are certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS — an organization that develops and administers competency examinations in diagnostic ultrasound — have met established standards in education, clinical training and patient care.
When your ultrasound examination is performed by an ARDMS-certified sonographer, you know that the individual has the training and experience to perform an ultrasound examination accurately. An ARDMS-certified sonographer has passed rigorous examination on the physics and instrumentation of ultrasound, as well as on the specialty area of ultrasound he or she is practicing.
Because an ARDMS-certified sonographer is required to earn continuing medical education credits each year, you can feel comfortable knowing that he or she is on the cutting edge of ultrasound technology and patient care skills. For more information about ultrasound certification or to find out if a sonographer is certified, contact the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers at or visit the ARDMS website at www. AIUM accreditation directory. AIUM Accreditation. Accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
